Cannabis maturation rates and developmental factors
Different rates of cannabis ripening

Before buying a strain, carefully study the characteristics that a seed bank gives to cannabis. Some strains mature later than others, usually hybrids with a sativa-dominant phenotype.
Also, the line of varieties with the prefix “Haze” sins with prolonged flowering , as well as all strains with the letter combination “XL” or “XXL” in the name. Especially high-yielding cannabis matures longer, and this is normal.
In the genetics of some varieties, the development is jerky: they slowly, for weeks, go to the goal, and literally one day you wake up, look through the bush, and ... surprise! He is fully prepared to give you bumps.Miracles do happen, so don't be discouraged if cannabis slows you down and check your trichomes daily. Light hairs on the buds indicate their immaturity, while darker hairs tell the grower that it's time to prepare for the harvest. At the same time, the trichomes should become cloudy.
In any case, it is recommended not to rush if you are not sure about the readiness of the inflorescences. If you break this rule, you will lose crop weight because most strains increase bud mass significantly just before harvest.
BREEDERS ARE NOT ALWAYS HONEST

This is the flowering period. More + 30 days
Let's say you got acquainted with the characteristics of seeds on the site, and realized that the variety you have chosen ripens very quickly. Of course, impressed by such prospects, you click on the order button, but after some time after planting the grains in the ground, disappointment comes to replace joy. What is the reason?
And the fact that some breeders indicate the approximate harvest time not from planting a seed or switching to 12/12 mode, but after the appearance of signs of flowering. Accordingly, cannabis matures 20-30 days more, and sometimes even longer. Some stores intentionally underestimate the harvest time, which attracts impatient buyers.
STRESS

If you do not monitor the temperature in the grow box and set the lighting incorrectly, then with 100% probability the hemp bushes will become stressed and begin to release fresh shoots. Look at the leaves: if they have burn damage, then this is the reason the cannabis refuses to fully ripen.
Another sign is the fouling of the upper inflorescences with white hairs or “fox tails”. It's just that hemp is very hot, and something needs to be done about it, and immediately. Move the light source away from the tops and lower the temperature in the grow box.
At the flowering stage, the thermometer should not exceed 27 ° C, the edge is 29.
New buds don't always grow upwards - you can find them on the sides of the cola. When you start assessing the readiness of the inflorescences, do not pay attention to them, evaluate only the “old” heads (or rather, the areas on them).
Do you use LED lights for lighting?
Experienced growers have noticed that when they use LED bulbs as a source of artificial light, the buds take longer to mature. In particular, this feature is inherent in autos, photoperiods stop from LEDs less often. Solving this problem is easy - just reduce the daylight hours.
CANNABIS BACK TO VEGA?

This phenomenon is called re-vega, the so-called return of cannabis to the vegetative phase. A re-vega usually happens when the grower is careless and the night mode puts the light on the plant. This is a common problem for cannabis growers who grow photoperiod varieties (in particular, the problem occurs after switching cannabis to 12/12 mode). You will be surprised, but microscopic exposure is enough for cannabis to return to vega. The inflorescences will stop ripening, then turn brown, and die. How to diagnose re-vega? Examine the bush: if round young leaves appeared on the tops, smooth to the touch, then this fate overtook the hemp.
But not only light can provoke re-vega: temperature or light stress will be the cause.
In this case, the symptoms of the problem will be different:
- Clones do not get bigger (or heavier);
- Inflorescences increase in size, but continue to produce “fox tails” and white villi.

Alas, cannabis, which has suffered from re-vega, cannot be helped. You can only try to introduce it to bloom again, but that's a completely different story.
Where are those trichomes located

Beginner cannabis growers sometimes make this mistake: they look at trichomes not on the buds, but on the leaves. It is not right! You need bumps, right? Therefore, it is logical that they need to be examined.
