Plant height for autoflowering cannabis strains
Plant height for auto cannabis
It is natural for a novice grower to wonder how tall a plant will be, given that they have to prepare the growing area. This article will cover everything you need to know to prepare for your cycle .
AVERAGE SIZE AUTOFLOWERS
The grower needs to understand how much space his autos will need to grow their plants. Some autos grow from 17 to 50 cm, while other varieties can grow up to 150 cm.
There are many factors that can affect your plant. They will be discussed further.
Tip: In order to control stretch and avoid problems with tall autos, you can use the LST technique, you can use low tension training methods to control stretch.
IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR GROVE
As for photoperiod varieties , the optimal temperature for autoflowering is 20-25°C and relative humidity in the range of 50-70%.
Remember that each variety can react differently, so you should also pay attention to your plant's reaction and adjust the conditions accordingly.
Under optimal conditions, plants can reach their maximum potential.
EASILY FIXED ISSUES AFFECTING GROWTH
• CLIMATE
• PESTS
• pH LEVEL
• IRRIGATION FREQUENCY
These minor factors can adversely affect growth, delaying it and affecting yields. If nothing is done about these problems, they can eventually kill the plant.
Fortunately, these problems can be fixed by allowing the medium to dry before watering, adjusting the pH before watering, looking for pests daily, and adjusting humidity and/or air circulation. If they are detected in time, they can be eliminated relatively easily and quickly, so we will focus on the main factors.
Note: Advanced pest problems are not so easy to solve, it is better to pay attention to them in the early stages. If you get to the point where you need to apply any type of insecticide (preferably a natural one), remember that it should NOT be applied during flowering unless absolutely necessary. This will HIGHLY affect the final product, mainly flavor and aroma.
MAIN FACTORS AFFECTING GROWTH
1️⃣ POT SIZE
2️⃣ LIGHT DISTANCE AND LIGHT CYCLE
3️⃣ FERTILIZERS
POT SIZE
Pot size is the main factor in determining the size of your plant.
If the pot is too small, then at some point there will be no room left for the roots to grow, which will affect nutrient intake. Your plant will not be able to breathe properly and will most likely die or produce little if any if not repotted.
It is strongly recommended to study the information from the manufacturer, as a rule, they indicate an approximate height.
You can also use these guidelines (remember that these calculations may vary):
• About 60cm - 7L
• Up to 100cm - 8-10l
• 100cm and above - 12l
Decide in advance, based on your grow box, which pot will work to your advantage.
Advice:
If in doubt, go for a 12L pot, the downside is that you will be using a lot more substrate and nutrients than you need. Switching to a larger pot also prevents transplant stress. You can also grow a tall auto in a small pot, sometimes they adapt and sometimes they don't, the best way is to experiment with different strains.

DISTANCE AND LIGHT CYCLE
All plants need light to live, autoflowers are no different. When grown outdoors, this will not be a problem. But if you are an insider, then this is one of the most common problems that people face.
Sunlight is very difficult to reproduce artificially, and the size of autoflowers is greatly affected by light distance and light cycle.
